All In to Zero - That’s How We Roll

All into zeroHirschbach's company safety culture is All In to Zero. All In to Zero means that safety is our number one value and it is our number one goal-over everything else-to get our drivers home safely to what is important to them. This value will never be sacrificed for any short-term priority. It also means that every family member of Hirschbach is a member of the safety team and that every single family member is responsible for reducing accidents.

Hirschbach strives to reach our All In To Zero safety goals by:

+Teaching Safe Driving Techniques During Driver Orientation

Hirschbach requires all new drivers to attend a three-day orientation. During this orientation, drivers are updated on the latest safety information and business practices they need to know to be a productive member of one of the top fleets in the trucking industry. As a courtesy to our new drivers, Hirschbach provides paid transportation to orientation, meals and lodging while the driver attends class. Drivers also will have their own motel rooms during orientation.

+Offering Driver Incentive Programs

Hirschbach offers a variety of incentive programs to recognize and encourage our dedicated driving professionals. Drivers who have zero service failures or preventative accidents can earn each quarter:

  • $1000 for 30,000 to 32,000 miles driven
  • $1500 for 32,001 to 34,000 miles driven
  • $2,000 for 34,001 or more miles driven
+Recognizing Our Safest Drivers

Hirschbach hosts an annual driver appreciation week. Drivers can earn recognition for safe and productive behavior and be recognized as "Best of the Best" in the following categories each year:

  • Platinum
  • Gold
  • Silver
  • Bronze

Hirschbach also honors the vital work our drivers do for us by recognizing important milestones in their professional career. Drivers who achieve 250,000; 500,000; 1,000,000; 2,000,000 and 3,000,000 miles driven at our company are rewarded with entry into a special club to recognize each level of achievement. We are proud to say more than one of our veteran drivers has achieved the lofty 3,000,000-mile status.

Hirschbach Partners With Truckers Against Trafficking

Hirschbach is helping Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT) put the brakes on human trafficking. TAT works to educate and equip those who travel along truck routes to identify and report suspected sex trafficking through an anonymous national hotline.

As a proud sponsor of TAT, Hirschbach has incorporated TAT training materials into our driver orientation program. When drivers are TAT trained, they make more reports to the TAT hotline, more victims are recovered and more criminals are prosecuted. To learn more about TAT, please visit

CSA – Compliance, Safety, Accountability

Hirschbach works diligently to ensure that our fleet exceeds the requirements set out by the FMCSA's CSA 2010 safety standards program. In April 2012, our fleet was one of the first to convert entirely to electronic logs. Use of electronic logging (e- logs) eliminates the requirement for drivers to keep manually written logs. It also helps ensure that our drivers remain fresh and well rested when on the road.

Along with e-logs, Hirschbach uses the latest technology to monitor virtually every aspect of driver and equipment performance to help keep the motoring public, our drivers, equipment and cargoes safe. Our dedicated Safety Coaches and everyone who works at Hirschbach are focused on continually improving our All In To Zero safety standards.

Safety Awards

Hirschbach was awarded the Fleet Safety Award from Iowa Motor Truck Association in 2016.
