Hirschbach Women Attend Iowa Lead Change Conference
DUBUQUE, Iowa (October 11, 2016) – On October 11, four Hirschbach women experienced the energy, inspiration, and lessons of Iowa Women Lead Change (IWLC) at the IWLC Conference in Dubuque, Iowa. IWLC’s mission is to provide opportunities for women who are committed to advancing their leadership knowledge and skills – to help them choose, connect, take risks and lead every day at home, at work and in life. Hundreds of women from across the state attended the conference. Hirschbach attendees included Verna Gebhardt, Erica Reiss, Sara Seville, and Danette Wright.
Generation: SHE was the theme of IWLC’s conference. The Generation: SHE theme was developed in concert with past conference attendees who acknowledged an interest in leading in an age-diverse workforce. Conference speakers had considerable experience in business, banking, technology, foreign relations, media, and non-profit management. They brought to the table their personal experiences in proactively navigating generational issues in the workplace.
Keynote speakers at the conference included Sylvia Ann Hewlett, Dr. Tererai Trent, and Carla Harris. Sylvia’s speech was entitled, “Keeping Talented Women on the Road to Success.” Tererai’s speech was entitled, “The Power of Great Hunger, The Power of Mentorship, and The Power of Giving Back.” Carla’s speech was entitled, “Maximizing Your Career Success.” All three women inspired conference attendees to take charge and lead change.
